How to Enroll

From Choosing Your Class to Your First Lesson

Ready to Start Japanese? Here’s What Happens Next.

Starting Japanese does not have to feel complicated.

First, choose what you want to study, how you want to learn, and the schedule that fits your life. Then decide whether you would like to visit Blue House first with a Trial Lesson or whether you are ready to enroll directly.

The whole process looks like this:

Choose Your Course → Choose Your Lesson Style → Choose Your Schedule → Trial or Direct Enrollment → Enroll → Online Orientation → Japanese Class Begins

If you are still deciding which Japanese course fits you:

Choose Your Course

Start with the Japanese you already know and what you want to be able to do next.

Complete beginners can start with Beginners 1 Class. If you have studied Japanese before, compare Beginners, Pre-Intermediate, and Intermediate and look for the point where the vocabulary, grammar, and examples begin to feel new.

Conversation is another option if practical speaking is your main priority, while JLPT Test Prep is for students preparing specifically for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.

If you are completely new to Japanese:

JLPT Test Prep requires a placement test before enrollment.

Choose Your Lesson Style

Once you know what you want to study, the next question is how you want to learn it.

Lecture is instructor-led, with students learning and practicing together. Intensive-Lecture follows an instructor-led course on a more concentrated schedule, while Self-Paced lets you move through structured course material according to your own progress with instructor support.

Not every course is available in every lesson style, so check the course details before choosing.

If you only have short time to study Japanese:

Choose Your Schedule

Next, look at how Japanese can fit into your week.

A Fixed Schedule gives you the same scheduled days and times each week. Flex gives you more control over when and how often you attend available Japanese classes.

Your lesson style and your attendance option are separate decisions. Self-Paced describes how you learn, while Fixed and Flex describe how you attend and pay.

Before enrolling, check the current weekly schedule, tuition, registration fee, materials, and the booking or cancellation conditions that apply to the option you choose.

Choose Trial or Direct Enrollment

There are two ways to begin, and you do not have to take a Trial Lesson before enrolling.

If you are still deciding, want to see Blue House first, or would feel more comfortable visiting before choosing, you can start with a Trial Lesson. It gives you a chance to see the school, ask questions, and get a clearer idea of where you may want to begin.

If you already know which class you want, you can skip the Trial Lesson and enroll directly.

A Trial Lesson is optional. It is there when it helps you decide.

Enroll Online

Once your course, lesson style, and schedule are decided, check the final details before completing enrollment.

Make sure you have reviewed the current tuition, registration fee, materials, and the booking or cancellation conditions that apply to your plan. Then continue through the online enrollment and payment process for the class you selected.

After payment, an automatic email will guide you to the next step. If you do not see it in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder first.

Complete Your Online Orientation

After enrollment, Online Orientation helps you get ready before your first class.

Once your payment is complete, an automatic email will be sent with the Online Orientation URL. If you do not see the email in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder.

After setting up your account and password, you can complete the Online Orientation online. Please finish it before your first class.

During the Orientation, you will:

  • Set up your profile
  • Introduce yourself in Living Room
  • Send a message to your instructor
  • Learn how to use the Study Room and online learning materials
  • See how Language Exchange works
  • Learn how to study and participate in your class

You do not need to memorize the whole Blue House system before your first lesson. The Orientation shows you the things you need first, and the rest becomes easier to understand once you begin using it.

If you are ready to start the Orientation but cannot find the automatic email, check your spam or junk folder one more time before contacting us.

Your Japanese Class Begins

Once enrollment and the required preparation are complete, your Japanese class begins.

You do not have to arrive knowing how everything works. As you start using the materials and joining class, you’ll gradually get used to the learning process and become more comfortable asking questions, practicing pronunciation, and using the Japanese you are learning.

Then those small moments start happening outside class, too. A word on a menu suddenly looks familiar. You recognize part of a question at a store, remember how to ask someone to repeat something, or find yourself saying a sentence you could not say before.

Little by little, the Japanese you study becomes Japanese you can recognize, remember, and use in your life in Okinawa.

Blue House Okinawa is located near Sunabe Seawall, close to Kadena Air Base Gate 1.

Still Have a Practical Question Before You Start?

If you know which course you want but still have a question about finding Blue House, parking, class schedules, or what to do before you arrive, you do not need to search through the other pages one by one.
